Use this page to confirm operating system support, storage behavior, source paths, encryption expectations, and export limits before installing the desktop app.
Desktop apps
- macOS
- macOS 12 Monterey or later. Intel and Apple Silicon Macs are supported.
- Windows
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 on x64 hardware.
- Memory
- 8 GB RAM is the practical minimum for smaller libraries. 16 GB or more is recommended for large message, media, or backup libraries.
- Account
- A Proof Me Hard web account is required for downloads, subscription access, cloud storage, and device authorization.
Supported source paths
- Local backups
- Authorized device backups and backup-derived records when present and readable.
- Mac Messages
- Local Mac Messages data when the user grants the required desktop permissions.
- Capture
- Encrypted Capture Inbox packages for photos, videos, audio, documents, screenshots, and related context.
- Official exports
- Supported platform exports such as Instagram, Messenger, Snapchat, Telegram, TikTok, WhatsApp, and similar export formats as supported.
- macOS-only paths
- Some Apple backup and local Mac Messages workflows require macOS because of local file locations, permission prompts, and source data formats.
- Windows paths
- Windows can review supported official exports, Capture packages, encrypted cloud restores, and Windows-compatible source paths. Direct Apple backup extraction may require macOS.
- Capture browser
- Capture requires a modern mobile or desktop browser, a stable internet connection, and enough time for selected files to finish uploading.
- Windows release status
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 x64 are supported targets. Some Windows access may use an invite-only beta channel while the public Windows release is finalized.
- Installer authenticity
- Download installers only from the signed-in proofmehard.com download page. Do not run installers from email attachments or third-party download sites.
Cloud and encryption
- Working library
- Local-first by default; the working library stays on the user computer unless the user chooses cloud backup or restore features.
- Cloud backup
- Optional encrypted cloud storage for backups and restores. The annual plan includes 200 GB. Storage packs remain available.
- Vault encryption
- Cloud backup data is encrypted before upload. Proof Me Hard does not receive the vault password or encryption keys.
- Network
- Internet access is required for sign-in, subscription status, downloads, updates, Capture, cloud backup, and cloud restore.
Exports and review
- Search and organization
- Search records, people, dates, attachments, conversations, investigations, notes, and selected media from supported sources.
- Export packets
- Export selected conversations, records, media, timestamps, notes, and source context when the source preserves it.
- Deleted or edited indicators
- Shown only when the original backup or platform export includes enough information to support those indicators.
Important limits
Message history, media, edits, deleted indicators, and source context depend on what the authorized source preserved before Proof Me Hard reads it.
No missing-data invention
Proof Me Hard cannot recreate messages, attachments, or metadata that the source backup, local database, Capture package, or official export does not contain.
Evidence readiness depends on process
The software can organize and export records, but legal admissibility depends on collection authority, jurisdiction, chain of custody, and review process.
