Export failed or exported file is missing media

Use this article when an export fails or a completed export does not include expected media.

Check the selected records

Exports can include media only when the imported source still contains or references the media.

  1. 1 Confirm the expected records were selected before export.
  2. 2 Open the record in the library and confirm media is visible there.
  3. 3 Check whether the source export or backup actually contained the media.

Check the destination

  1. 1 Confirm the destination drive has enough free space.
  2. 2 Avoid exporting into a folder currently locked by a sync app.
  3. 3 Retry to a local folder such as Desktop or Documents.
  4. 4 Contact support with the export error and approximate record count if it fails again.
