Check the computer
Large libraries need memory, disk space, and time for indexing, thumbnailing, search, and export preparation. The same source can feel very different on a low-memory laptop versus a newer desktop.
- 1 Close other heavy apps while importing, indexing, or exporting.
- 2 Confirm the computer has at least 8 GB RAM; 16 GB or more is recommended for large libraries.
- 3 Keep the library on a fast local drive when possible.
- 4 Confirm the destination drive has enough free space before exporting.
Let background work finish
Search, media previews, and export readiness may improve after the first pass over a large source finishes.
- 1 Keep Proof Me Hard open until import and indexing activity settles.
- 2 Avoid sleep mode during large imports or exports.
- 3 Break extremely large exports into smaller selections if practical.
- 4 Contact support with approximate source size, message count if known, app version, and computer specs if performance remains poor.
What to send support if this is still unresolved
- Operating system
- App version
- Approximate source size
- RAM amount if known
- Whether the library is on an internal or external drive
Contact support when the steps above do not resolve the issue.
